Thursday, October 4th -- McNay Art Museum, 6:00pm

Dr. Helen C. Evans, Mary and Michael Jaharis Curator for Byzantine Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, will be speaking the upcoming exhibition about medieval Armenia.  

  • A reception for those attending the conference will be held after the lecture.


Friday, October 5th--  Reception at The Alamo, 7:00 pm

Following the afternoon sessions on Friday, we will attend a reception on the grounds of the Alamo Mission.  Food and drinks will be served.  Please anticipate margaritas, Mexican food, and Mariachis. 


Saturday, October 6th-- Walk to San Fernando Cathedral, 7:30pm

Following the afternoon sessions on Saturday, we will take a leisurely walk along the Riverwalk from the Menger to San Fernando Cathedral.  The walk is approximately 15 minutes.  Above and along the river, on the so-called Museum Reach, there are a number of art installations by artists from San Antonio.  

There are a number of foodtrucks that will be at the plaza in front of the cathedral.  Additionally, there are many great bars and restaurants nearby.  

At 9:00 there is laser light show about the history of San Antonio called "The Saga" that plays on the facade of the cathedral.  


Sunday, October 7th-- Visit to the San Antonio Museum of Art, 12:30pm

After the conclusion of the presentations on Sunday, conference goers are invited to visit the San Antonio Museum of Art.  The museum houses a rich collection of contemporary art, Latin American art, and arts of the Ancient Mediterranean.
